Senior Tier II Network Technician
About the Role
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Senior Tier II Network Technician to support the customer’s computer data communications systems. Responsibilities include providing design specifications, testing, and inspections for computer networks; planning and implementing upgrades; and analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.
Responsibilities
- Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
- Respond to and resolve network incidents, demonstrating troubleshooting skills and communicating with the team.
- Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
- Draft and implement standard network change requests.
- Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (e.g., site surveys, TEMS, coordinating and installing new equipment).
- Perform configuration management functions, including updating topology drawings, ensuring accurate asset management records, and conducting inventory.
- Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades (knowledge of Cisco/Juniper RMA process).
- Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).
- Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configurations).
- Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiarity with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE).
- Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLANs, Port Security, Thin Configs).
- Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Foundry OS.
- Experience with Visio, ServiceNow, and Confluence.
- Mentor and train junior technical staff.
- May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly (required at time of consideration).
- 12 years of combined work experience and education (e.g., Doctorate and 4 years, Master’s and 6 years, Bachelor’s and 8 years, Associate’s and 10 years, or HS diploma and 12 years).
- Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
- Available to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Available to work flexible hours, including weekend support.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Pay
Pay Range: $92,300.00 - $166,850.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
