About the role

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Tier II Network Technician to support the customer’s computer data communications systems. Responsibilities include providing design specifications, testing, and inspections for computer networks; planning and implementing upgrades; and analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
  • Respond to and resolve network incidents, demonstrating troubleshooting skills and communicating with the team.
  • Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
  • Draft and implement standard network change requests.
  • Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment).
  • Perform configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings, ensuring accurate asset management records, and conducting inventory.
  • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades (knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process).
  • Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).
  • Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs).
  • Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE).
  • Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLANs, Port Security, Thin Configs).
  • Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Foundry OS.
  • Use Visio for network documentation.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and Confluence.
  • May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance at time of consideration.
  • 6 years of combined work history and education (Doctorate: 0 years, Master’s: 0 years, Bachelor’s: 2 years, Associate’s: 4 years, HS diploma: 6 years).
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals and layer 2 switching concepts.
  • Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes.
  • Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience (CAT5, Single Mode (SM)/Multimode (MM) Fiber, Serial cables, Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP)).
  • Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, and Brocade and Foundry Operating System (OS).
  • Familiarity with Layer 3 protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, and GRE.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.

Pay

Pay Range: $59,150.00 - $106,925.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
