The Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a critical role in executing BMS’s aspiration to deliver impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients. The TAS builds and maintains strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs, serving as their primary point of contact. This role is field-based, with 100% of time spent engaging external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Create demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintain and grow a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans, using tools like CE³ to derive insights and inform call plans.
  • Provide feedback on tool usage to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discuss product-related scientific information consistent with label.
  • Organize external speaker programs, selecting approved speakers and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintain expertise on emerging data for approved indications and engage real-time medical support for complex inquiries.
  • Collaborate with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
  • Gather and share relevant insights internally to enable BMS to better serve its customers.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS’s conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced scientific degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers and office staff.
  • Experience in oncology is preferred.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and strong account management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills.

Pay

Field - United States: $144,500 - $175,100

Additional Notes

  • Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting the requirements of a "Qualified Driver," including being at least 21 years of age, holding a driver’s license in good standing, and having an acceptable driving risk level as determined by the Company.
  • Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
