About the role

As the largest and busiest Central Labs department in New York, we set the standards for our field. Our technologists conduct the widest array of testing in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will gain experience with unique analyses not performed anywhere else, including rare opportunities in antibody identification and immunohematology problems. Combined with the stem cell capabilities of our Cellular Therapy department, we offer unlimited opportunities to advance your expertise.

In addition to technical responsibilities, you will supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory personnel performing quantitative and qualitative tests. You will train and guide laboratory technologists, participate in problem-solving processes, and maintain quality assurance and quality control standards.

This is a part-time evening shift position located at our NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center on Manhattan's east side.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of laboratory personnel
  • Train and guide laboratory technologists
  • Participate in problem-solving processes
  • Maintain quality assurance and quality control standards

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Laboratory Technologist
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent experience)
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education Department
  • ASCP certification (preferred)
  • Six years of experience as a Laboratory Technologist (preferred)

Pay

Salary Range: $55.80–$66.65 per hour

All roles require on-site presence, and employees should live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
