About the role

Google's projects span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while addressing unique engineering challenges. As a Technical Program Manager, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and manage projects through their entire lifecycle, including scheduling, risk identification, and stakeholder communication. You'll explain analyses and recommendations to executives and discuss technical trade-offs with engineers.

The team's mission is to optimize global operations of assets and tooling, ensuring reliability and cost-effectiveness at scale. Key focus areas include financial reporting, unit-rate calculations, spend economics, contract processing, payments, and oversight of Google's tooling strategy for infrastructure assets like land, energy, and network. You'll help establish the strategy for developing and managing tools, processes, and resources critical to Google's asset portfolio.

This team drives innovations behind Google's AI models, computing power, and global services, shaping the future of hyperscale computing through TPUs, Vertex AI, Google Global Networking, data center operations, and systems research.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the roadmap and strategy for Google’s portfolio of first-party tools supporting the asset and infrastructure layer, including resource allocation.
• Lead a governance structure that drives executive decision-making via a digital assets council and manage internal communications with first-party customers.
• Manage the portfolio of software and tooling programs, prioritizing work, allocating resources, and ensuring metrics and personnel are in place to drive high performance and organizational impact.
• Identify and implement change management opportunities to increase program velocity and overall impact across multiple teams.
• Use AI to drive productivity, creativity, and innovation across the team, fostering conditions for continuous experimentation and learning.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in program management.
• 7 years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.

Preferred qualifications

• Advanced degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing cross-functional or team projects.
• Knowledge of technical principles, including programming languages, data structures, and debugging.
• Experience in information technology, software, and digital asset development.
• Ability to define structural logic and balance technical trade-offs (e.g., performance, reliability, cost).
• Ability to drive results across an organization and build capabilities at various team levels.

Pay

US: $240,000 - $334,000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits.
