Senior Supervisor-Metal Fabrication/Pre-Production Assembly | Weekend Shift

About the Role

Directs and coordinates activities of assigned manufacturing areas, ensuring quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Leads Production Supervisors and supports the direct labor force through training, retention, hiring, and addressing their needs. Executes production designs set by Cirrus Process Engineering and provides visibility into operations through budgeting and procedural administration.

Supervisory Responsibility

Oversees assigned Production Technicians, Production Leads, and Production Masters.

Responsibilities

• Communicates company vision, goals, and objectives to the manufacturing team clearly and timely.
• Develops and implements activities in assigned manufacturing areas.
• Ensures compliance with all safety standards and policies; conducts regular safety observations and corrects unsafe conditions.
• Monitors employee performance, provides feedback, empowers and mentors employees, delivers performance reviews, and assists in goal setting.
• Assesses department training needs, oversees training programs, and drives training initiatives.
• Leads 6S initiatives and holds the team accountable to area standards.
• Participates in layered process audits to ensure compliance with quality and Cirrus processes.
• Drives Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for non-conformances and ensures timely completion of mitigations.
• Coordinates with engineering staff and participates in new product launches.
• Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
• Maintains operations data, such as time, production, and cost records.
• Reviews production and operating reports to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems, minimizing costs and preventing delays.
• Sets standards for teamwork, coaches employees, and guides improvement plans to achieve on-time delivery with zero defects.
• Develops or revises standard operational and working practices; ensures compliance with standards.
• Requisitions materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
• Leads KPI improvements (Safety, Quality, People, Delivery, and Cost) through continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
• Strives for process improvement, cost reduction, and labor hour reduction in assigned areas.
• Identifies change initiatives and engages employees in implementing and communicating change.
• Works to reduce scrap and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) while managing overtime, personnel, and absenteeism.
• Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with 7 years of related experience, including at least 2 years of leadership experience (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Proficiency in Internet software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to anticipate department needs and resolve complex personnel issues.
• Capability to make well-thought-out decisions in a timely manner.
• Effective planning and organizing skills, especially during chaotic times.
• Ability to understand and complete work instructions, planning flows, and adjust or explain planning procedures.
• Understanding of process specifications and pertinent reference information.
• Leadership in Lean Manufacturing Principles and practices.
• Ensures manufacturing areas are clean, orderly, and presentable at all times.
• Compliance with 6 Sigma principles (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety).
• Ensures compliance with all paperwork governing job duties, such as work instructions.
• Attention to detail and ability to lead assembly teams and supervisors in assigned shift areas.
• May oversee different manufacturing locations as production needs require.

Pay

Salary Range: USD $72,851.37/Yr. - USD $109,277.06/Yr.
