Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications
Tonix Pharmaceuticals is a fully integrated, commercial-stage biotechnology company focused on central nervous system (CNS) and immunology treatments in areas of high unmet medical need. TONMYA® (cyclobenzaprine HCl sublingual tablets 2.8 mg) is the first new treatment for fibromyalgia in adults in more than 15 years. Tonix’s CNS commercial infrastructure supports its marketed products, including its acute migraine products, Zembrace® Symtouch® (sumatriptan injection 3 mg) and Tosymra® (sumatriptan nasal spray 10 mg). The company is investigating TONMYA® in Phase 2 clinical trials for major depressive disorder and acute stress disorder/acute stress reaction, and advancing a pipeline of immunology programs.
About the role
The Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications supports the strategy, development, and execution of a broad portfolio of communications initiatives. These include supporting business objectives, strengthening corporate reputation, raising corporate and executive visibility, cultivating employee engagement, and evolving the brand. This role serves as a trusted communications partner, creating and delivering impactful messaging and materials across internal and external channels for audiences including investors.
Responsibilities
- External Corporate Communications
- Draft, review, and secure approval on materials including messaging/corporate narrative, press releases, social media posts, bylined media articles, Q&As, thought leadership, multimedia, factsheets, and website content.
- Support communications for corporate, data, and regulatory newsflow.
- Manage the corporate website, including fielding cross-functional requests for updates.
- Collaborate on multi-purpose messaging and imagery for medical meetings, commercial booths, sponsorships, patient advocacy initiatives, and corporate events.
- Interact with external public relations and website vendor partners to ensure accurate and timely delivery of projects.
- Fulfill ad-hoc requests related to materials development, benchmarking, performance metrics reporting, media monitoring, and social listening.
- Investor Relations/Financial Communications
- Support materials development and execution for quarterly earnings, including press releases, scripts, Q&A, decks, and live calls.
- Assist with financial communications, including messaging, investor outreach notes, and banking conference presentations.
- Update corporate presentations and handle IR database entries to track meetings.
- Liaise with external investor relations vendor partners on website, newsflow, and other activities.
- Handle ad-hoc benchmarking and research requests.
- Internal Communications
- Serve as the day-to-day point person for the intranet, facilitating requests and proactive outreach on content.
- Draft and review intranet posts, securing necessary approvals before publishing.
- Create graphics and publish posts on the intranet.
- Support development of materials and execution for town halls and other internal events.
- Contribute to internal communications and employee engagement initiatives.
- Project Leadership
- Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Join and/or lead calls to ensure efficient and productive use of time.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field.
- 5-8 years of corporate communications, internal communications, public relations, media, or financial communications experience at biotech/pharmaceutical companies and/or agencies focused on life science/healthcare clients.
- Late-stage and/or commercial biopharmaceutical company communications experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, website management, Intranet, Canva/graphic design, newswire, and social media platforms.

- Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple, deadline-driven projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and external partners.
- Understanding of strategic communications principles and real-world application for planning and implementation.
- Professionalism and poise, including for interactions with senior leaders and support of executive communications.
- Resourcefulness, curiosity, and interest in ongoing learning and professional development.
- Familiarity with communication analytics and measurement tools.

$90,000 - $123,000 USD
