Job Description
L3Harris is seeking a Senior Specialist, Business Development with a focus on new business growth within our fuzing and munitions portfolio. Key roles of this position include:
- Identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities in support of financial targets.
- Develop and support market and competitor assessments.
- Develop strategies to shape and respond to customer proposal requirements.
- Develop and execute customer engagement plans.
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, and product line management on strategy development.
Essential Functions
- Develops and maintains relationships with customers and industry partners.
- Arrange and support strategic customer engagements. Support tradeshows as required.
- Provides timely, accurate, actionable insights on industry, market and budgetary trends and competitors, to support divisional pursuits.
- Evaluates business opportunities (customers/markets/products) in consideration of trends and makes recommendations on growth and capture strategies.
- Identify markets, opportunities, and determine feasibility of product development.
- Collaborates with Engineering in development of long term market roadmaps and alignment of technology roadmaps.
- Gathers and maintains competitive intelligence.
- Provides inputs into business reviews, strategic planning exercises, resource planning, budget analysis, and opportunity mapping.
- Lead and support proposal efforts for new product development.
- Develop and document win strategies and pursuit campaigns.
- Determines price-to-win for major program initiatives.
- Builds the L3Harris brand through performance, customer focus, thought leadership, ethical business practices, and integrity - deliver on customer focused, business aligned commitments.
- Leads by example, motivating individuals to work together toward common goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office including PowerPoint.
- Travel 50% time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of engineering, business development or related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- 5 years or more experience and understanding of new business capture processes, methods and techniques.
- Experience developing proposals.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Desired background in munitions technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in strategy, business development, or program management with a focus in Aerospace and Defense industry.
