Location: Oakland, CA or Cincinnati, OH or Dallas, TX – long-term contract. Visa-independent candidates only.

About the Role

For interviews, candidates will be asked to conduct a scripting challenge.

Responsibilities

  • Configure ServiceNow ITSM applications (Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Service Catalog, Mobile App, Virtual Agent) in alignment with approved design plans.
  • Develop custom ServiceNow applications, including request forms, integrations with external systems, security (Access Control Lists), and UI enhancements for a custom look and feel.
  • Implement moderate to complex custom widgets and backend scripting.
  • Configure Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, Script Includes, Access Control Lists, and complex workflows.
  • Develop ServiceNow integrations using APIs, web services, and data imports/exports.
  • Work with Workflows, SLAs, Import Sets, and Update Sets.
  • Create Record Producers and Catalog Items using Variables and Variable Sets.
  • Schedule jobs, events, and triggers to manage business needs.
  • Create transform maps and Import Sets for bulk data uploads via spreadsheets.
  • Design and maintain repeatable processes for development, test, staging, and production environments with high availability.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Train business users on project implementation.
  • Participate in planning meetings (pre-iteration, retrospectives) and provide feedback.

Requirements

  • ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator (required).
  • ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified System Administrator (CSA) (preferred).
  • Experience developing ServiceNow software solutions using JavaScript, Jelly, Web Services, XML, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with SQL query creation and LDAP for connecting to Oracle, MySQL databases, and Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of unit testing, system integration testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) processes.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and ITIL/industry standards.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and operating system concepts.
