Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors, dryers, filters, condensate management equipment, controls, and related compressed air system components.
- Provide advanced on-site technical support for mechanical, electrical, controls, and application-related service issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, start-ups, commissioning support, and performance evaluations in accordance with company standards and manufacturer requirements.
- Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and communicate findings clearly to customers and internal teams.
- Explain system operation, service recommendations, repair options, and equipment capabilities to customers in a professional and understandable manner.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following all company safety procedures, customer site requirements, environmental guidelines, and applicable regulations.
- Protect customer property, company assets, tools, vehicles, and materials while maintaining clean and organized work areas.
- Complete service reports, work orders, inspection forms, parts requests, customer documentation, and other required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Serve as a technical resource to less experienced technicians by sharing knowledge, modeling safe work practices, and supporting team development when needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong technical knowledge of compressed air systems, including air compressors, dryers, filtration, piping, condensate management, controls, and related accessories.
- Typically requires eight to ten years of related field service experience in compressed air, industrial equipment, manufacturing, or a comparable technical service environment.
- High level of analytical ability with proven skill in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, controls, and system performance issues.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in time-sensitive or high-pressure customer situations while maintaining sound judgment and professionalism.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build trust quickly, communicate clearly, and represent the company in a professional manner.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to complete accurate service documentation and customer reports.
- Computer literacy and the ability to use service management systems, email, mobile devices, and other company technology tools.
- Able to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals, electrical schematics, parts books, service bulletins, and related publications.
- Must be self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently while contributing to a team-focused service environment.
- Ability to travel to customer sites, off-site meetings, training events, and company-related functions, including assignments with short notice when business needs require.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, trade certification, military technical training, or related college coursework preferred.
- Compressed air, industrial equipment service, manufacturing maintenance, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, or comparable field service experience.
