About the role
Join our team at Sullivan Place, a 498-home apartment community in Alexandria, VA. As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our community, ensuring residents enjoy a comfortable and well-maintained home.
Qualifications
- Technical or vocational certificate and/or degree preferred.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in building and mechanical maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, painting, and drywall.
- Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance and repair techniques.
- Knowledge and experience in HVAC and carpentry is a plus.
- EPA Type II or Universal certification required.
- Certification in Chlorine, Fluorine, and Carbon (CFC) preferred.
- Some locations require certification in pool operation (CPO).
- Valid driver’s license and rotating on-call responsibility required.
Responsibilities
- Respond to resident maintenance requests by taking appropriate action to repair and/or restore service within established quality and time standards.
- Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the community, including grounds, amenities, building exteriors/interiors, market-ready units, breezeways, curbs, signage, leasing office, central garbage areas, parking lots, and other common areas.
- Report all deficiencies and risk management safety issues immediately.
- Prepare apartments for occupancy by performing electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, and other miscellaneous maintenance tasks, as well as carpet cleaning, painting, and overall apartment cleaning.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in proper working order, request replacements as necessary, and assist in stocking inventory.
- Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
- Handle more complex maintenance tasks for high-profile tower communities, large complexes, or multiple communities.
- Provide additional services such as high-rise window cleaning and elevator maintenance, if applicable.
- Assist in training and mentoring new Service Technicians or Apprentices.
- Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
