About the role
The Senior Safety Administrator is responsible for monitoring and enforcing safety measures, policies, and requirements determined by the company and pertinent laws. Transdev offers a competitive compensation package including a $31.00 hourly pay rate and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the flow of the department and ensure the safety department is in compliance at all times.
- Ensure contract compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations; ensure related record keeping and reporting requirements are met and maintained; provide support in implementing approved recommendations.
- Supervise tasks including completing regular safety checks (including job site inspections along with employee inspections), looking for unsafe work conditions, helping with safety projects, and ensuring all safety recommendations are taken into effect.
- Manage the return-to-work process, maintain contact with injured employees and the insurance carrier, and work with adjusters and insurance agencies regarding accident, incident, and injury preventability, fault, investigation, and follow-up steps.
- Compile all relevant employee data and create a DQ file for all new hires. Regularly review files and remove files of terminated employees and place them in appropriate storage. Follow up with individuals on missing information and report any inconsistencies to the Senior Safety Manager – Health and Compliance or Human Resources Department. Assist in audits of DQ files by collecting documentation as needed.
- Manage electronic and hard copy files. Maintain a continuous current database of State and City of Boston School Bus Driver Training and Annual Re-certifications, ensuring drivers are scheduled for and notified of their training requirements in accordance with the drivers' Collective Bargaining Agreement and State/City mandates.
- Participate in quarterly claim reviews. Assist with managing collision activities. Guide and control direction of claims. Maintain OSHA logs and reporting. Maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- A valid driver's license
- At least 21 years old
- Three (3) years of general office or file management experience
- Dispatching or supervisory experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt to changing situations and listen to feedback
- Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- A customer service-oriented mentality with attention to detail
- Proven customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Windows-based computer operating system and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to identify OHSA recordable and OHSA reportable events
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work with sensitive documentation and materials displaying confidentiality, tact, and decorum
- Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent)
Physical Requirements
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen)
- Push and pull objects up to 10 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday
- Lift material weighing up to 20 lbs. with or without assistance
- Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
