About the role

Securities Lending at Northern Trust helps institutional investors generate additional revenue from their investment portfolios by lending securities to approved market participants. As a Senior Relationship Manager, you will lead a portfolio of complex institutional clients, serving as a trusted advisor while delivering strategic solutions, enhancing the client experience, and identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand relationships with complex institutional securities lending clients.
  • Advise senior client stakeholders on strategic initiatives, service enhancements, and business objectives.
  • Develop innovative solutions that address evolving client needs and industry challenges.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure exceptional service delivery and timely issue resolution.
  • Educate clients on market developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends affecting their securities lending programs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through additional products and services.
  • Develop pricing strategies and manage client profitability while maintaining awareness of market and competitive dynamics.
  • Recommend new products, services, and process improvements that support client objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of financial services experience, including at least 5 years in securities lending, trust, asset servicing, custody, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of securities lending products, borrower and collateral structures, and industry practices.
  • Understanding of financial markets, investment management, and portfolio management concepts.
  • Proven experience managing complex institutional client relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship management, and business development skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, solve complex problems, and manage multiple priorities in a client-focused environment.

Pay

Salary range is $114,700 - 194,900 USD and may include a discretionary bonus program with an equity component.
