Senior Registered Nurse Level III (DOH/TURQ#12512)

Duties

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Medication administration
• Taking patient vitals
• Addressing detox symptoms
• Daily documentation
• Electronic charting
• Patient education
• Implementing treatment plans
• Evaluating effectiveness of medications
• Covering for charge nurse

Requirements

Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

Qualifications

• Experience working with patients with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders
• Experience developing and monitoring patient care plans
• Experience with electronic charting
• Experience working with multidisciplinary team

Schedule

Night Shifts; Wed (4 hours) and Thu, Fri, Sat (12 hours)

Employment Requirements

• Designated as a safety sensitive position
• Subject to pre-employment and random testing for alcohol and/or drugs
• Subject to nationwide criminal background check and conditional employment pending results
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
• Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or pass Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment
• Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training

Working Conditions

• Work in a rehabilitation hospital setting
• Long periods of walking, sitting, standing, bending and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds may be required
• May be exposed to potentially violent patients in a volatile situation
• Work in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage
• May be required to work weekends, holidays and overtime
