We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Property Manager to lead the day-to-day performance of residential and commercial assets in San Diego, California. This is a contract position within the Real Estate & Property industry.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily management of residential and commercial properties, including operations, tenant services, site administration, and ongoing property improvements.
  • Build and monitor property budgets, track expenses, prepare annual financial plans, review variances, and take corrective action to support financial goals.
  • Oversee rent collection, invoice processing, expense reporting, and account reconciliation to maintain accurate property financial records.
  • Address tenant concerns promptly, enforce occupancy policies, inspect vacant spaces, and coordinate repairs to uphold property standards.
  • Manage building maintenance programs by scheduling vendors, supervising service providers, and ensuring critical systems remain in good working order.
  • Support leasing activity by preparing lease documentation, coordinating space availability, and negotiating terms with prospective or renewing tenants.
  • Maintain safe and secure properties by overseeing security measures, establishing precautionary procedures, and responding effectively to urgent situations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations while keeping management informed of any required actions or risks.
  • Prepare financial reporting for month-end activities, forecasts, and asset performance reviews to support informed business decisions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in property management, real estate operations, or a closely related role overseeing residential or commercial assets.
  • Strong capability in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close support, and preparation of property-level financial reports.
  • Working knowledge of account reconciliation, ledgers, expense tracking, and accounting or property management software.
  • Experience handling lease administration, rent collection, tenant relations, vendor coordination, and maintenance oversight.
  • Solid understanding of property compliance requirements, occupancy policies, and operational procedures within a real estate environment.
  • Advanced organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, or a related field preferred; experience with property management software is an advantage.
