Overview
Kimley-Horn is seeking a Transportation Practice Builder to join their office in Sacramento, California (CA).
Responsibilities
- Creates a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of the transportation engineering practice.
- Aids in marketing and business development efforts with existing local municipal, state, and private clients.
- Delivers a wide variety of transportation planning, traffic engineering, and/or ITS-related projects with the growing team of transportation professionals.
- Beyond serving existing clients, pursues own passions, project opportunities, and clients.
- Manages projects profitably, transitions work to qualified staff, grows and mentors staff, and acts as a positive leader and mentor.
- Given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.
- Eligible for a performance-based bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
- At least 15 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design
- Registered license (PE and/or TE)
- Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in Sacramento and surrounding communities
- Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
- Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
- Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
- Able to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Able to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively
Pay
Base Salary Range: $145,000 - $250,000
Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
