Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Practice Builder to expand their Transportation Planning practice in San Jose, California (CA).

Responsibilities

  • Create a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of the transportation engineering practice
  • Aid in marketing and business development efforts with existing local municipal, state, and private clients
  • Deliver a wide variety of transportation planning, roadway, and/or ITS-related projects with the growing team of transportation professionals
  • Beyond serving existing clients, pursue personal passions, lead, and attract new clients
  • Lead, direct, and grow their business with significant autonomy
  • Enjoy a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
  • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, and grow and mentor staff
  • Act as a positive leader and mentor

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of transportation planning experience
  • Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in the local area
  • Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
  • Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
  • Able to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably

Pay

Base Salary Range: $165,000 to $220,000
Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
