About the role

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Civil Engineer to lead power sector projects. This role will be part of Stantec's Environmental Services team, providing expertise in various design projects across the mid-Atlantic region.

Responsibilities

  • Review and seal project deliverables to ensure timely completion, quality, and adherence to budget.
  • Plan, organize, and manage project deliverables to meet deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate work efforts and prepare deliverables reports, client stewardship, and manage multi-discipline projects.
  • Execute environmental permitting strategy, including preparing permit applications, conducting field surveys, and coordinating with regulatory agencies.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and teams, ensuring compliance with HSSE policies and guidelines.
  • Support and implement HSSE policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines in project execution.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships, identifying opportunities for new business.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Effective resource planning and results delivery.
  • Current knowledge of federal and state regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Experience with RFPs and bidding processes.
  • Experience managing projects in Virginia and potentially other regions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Water Resources, Biological Systems, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Licensure (P.E.) in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, or Maryland preferred.

Skills

  • Strong technical skills in hydrology, hydraulic analysis, and design calculations.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and permitting processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
