About the role
Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership for Power sector projects. This position will be part of Stantec's Environmental Services team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Sr. Project Manager or Project Technical Lead for Power Sector engineering projects with responsibility for reviewing and sealing of projects.
- Plan, organize, and manage the production of project deliverables to ensure on time delivery, technical quality and within budget – includes coordinating work efforts and the preparation of deliverables reports, client stewardship and coordinating on multi-discipline projects.
- Provide technical leadership for projects in Virginia and occasionally for projects in other parts of the Mid-Atlantic US, performing a variety of tasks to plan, execute and deliver the project.
- Work with more junior engineers to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, design calculations, write engineering reports, and select design criteria.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and teams.
- Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking opportunities for new business.
Qualifications
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to external and internal client’s business needs.
- Demonstrate effective resource planning, results delivery, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations and permitting requirements.
- Prominent ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of documents related to requests for proposals and invitations for bid.
- Thrive in a team environment, mentor to staff, advisor to clients and management team.
Credentials
- Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Civil, Water Resources, Biological Systems, Environmental Engineering, or other closely related degree required.
- Minimum of 10 years prior experience in a similar role required.
- Professional Licensure (P.E.) in NC, SC, VA, WV, MD desirable.

Pay
$107,100.00 - $160,700.00 Annually
