About the role

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Civil Engineer to lead power sector projects. This position is part of the Environmental Services team, providing expertise across various design projects including electric transmission, project access roads, substations, battery storage facilities, and solar sites.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Sr. Project Manager or Project Technical Lead for Power Sector engineering projects, reviewing and sealing projects.
  • Plan, organize, and manage project deliverables to ensure on-time delivery, technical quality, and within budget.
  • Coordinate work efforts and prepare deliverables reports, client stewardship, and coordinate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Provide technical leadership for projects in Virginia and occasionally for projects in other parts of the Mid-Atlantic US.
  • Execute environmental permitting strategy, develop regulatory strategies, conduct environmental field surveys, and ensure construction compliance.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and teams.
  • Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, customer-focused to understand and appropriately respond to client needs.
  • Effective resource planning, results delivery, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Prior experience in a similar role with a minimum of 10 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Water Resources, Biological Systems, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Licensure (P.E.) in NC, SC, VA, WV, MD desirable.
