About the role
The Senior Product Manager, 5G Advanced Network Solutions (ANS) for Government is a visionary strategist, analyst, customer evangelist, and leader responsible for owning T-Mobile’s internal and external products, platforms, and services. This role identifies customer problems and unmet needs, assesses technical feasibility, secures funding, and leads cross-functional teams to deliver solutions leveraging T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G Stand Alone network. The ideal candidate will champion advanced 5G technologies like Network Slicing, Local Breakout, and Private 5G Networks to create business outcomes for government and public safety customers.
This role builds and maintains high-level relationships with customers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders such as Network Engineering, IT, Customer Care, and Marketing. It drives executive engagement through deep industry knowledge and go-to-market strategies. The position is suited for a "jack-of-all-trades" with strong customer empathy, strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Own product end-to-end for complex or cross-platform solutions, including creating, managing, and communicating product vision and roadmap.
- Identify target customers, design and drive end-user product research, and partner with stakeholders to understand current customer experiences and opportunities.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify product innovation opportunities or root causes of issues.
- Perform cost-benefit, ROI, NPV, and competitive product analyses to support decision-making.
- Secure and maintain product funding through enterprise processes.
- Anticipate industry trends and incorporate analyses into the product roadmap.
- Stakeholder Communication & Executive Engagement
- Communicate, influence, and sell ideas at the VP level and below, including delivering product presentations.
- Drive ad hoc analysis and present findings to executive management.
- Influence product feature sets and positioning strategies to improve customer experience and drive growth.
- Assess partnerships and licensing opportunities with external third parties.
- Maintain a current understanding of tech trends and their impact on the product roadmap.
- Customer Insights & Voice of Customer
- Leverage customer insights to shape product vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
- Actively engage with customers to build empathy and understand their needs.
- Create and manage an active Voice of Customer (VOC) feed for the team.
- Evangelize and advocate for the customer internally and externally, fostering a customer-first mindset.
- Test ideas with real customers to ensure the product delivers desired benefits.
- Product Execution & Backlog Management
- Translate product/platform strategy into detailed requirements and documentation.
- Own and manage the product backlog and priorities with business and technology partners.
- Scope and align prioritization of activities based on business and customer impact.
- Collaborate with Architecture and Dev teams to address technical debt and long-term investments.
- Ensure production defects are prioritized and resolved.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create and communicate release schedules.
- Generate and maintain dashboards and reports tracking product health and success metrics.
- Conduct Product Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and Steering meetings.
- Product Performance & Operations
- Run beta and pilot programs for early-stage products.
- Collaborate with advertising and public relations to promote products.
- Support sales, marketing, and other teams with product knowledge and documentation.
- Assist with execution across all aspects of the software development process.
- Recognize and communicate technical challenges and make educated trade-off decisions.
- Accountable for product quality and performance in production, including critical defect response.
- Manage development of adoption tools and training materials.
- Identify and drive improvement plans for execution, operational, or organizational issues.
- Relationship & People, Professional Development
- Collaborate with teams such as sales, marketing, legal, finance, and go-to-market.
- Develop positive working relationships with customer groups and representatives.
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- 7+ years of relevant Product Management experience.
- Advanced understanding of customer experience.
- Experience launching products in the Government/Public Safety segment.
- Product Lifecycle Management experience in delivering large, complex business/technology initiatives.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with leadership and employ collaboration and influence.
- Experience directing matrixed resources and delivering software using Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Strong technical writing skills, including requirements elicitation and clear documentation for diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize product use data for decision-making.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Travel required.
Pay
Base pay range: $121,600 - $219,400. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience. Most Corporate employees are eligible for an annual bonus target of 20% based on company and/or individual performance.
