About the role

The Senior Product Manager, 5G Advanced Network Solutions (ANS) for Government is a visionary strategist, analyst, customer evangelist, and leader responsible for envisioning and creating products that achieve specific business results. This role identifies customer problems and unmet needs, assesses technical feasibility, secures funding, and leads cross-functional teams to deliver solutions. The Senior Product Manager will champion customer solutions leveraging T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G Stand Alone network, focusing on advanced 5G technologies like Network Slicing, Local Breakout, and Private 5G Networks.

This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders such as Network Engineering, Information Technology, Customer Care, and Marketing. The ideal candidate will drive executive relationships, determine go-to-market strategies, and collaborate on partnership opportunities. This position is suited for a dynamic, "jack-of-all-trades" professional with deep customer empathy, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap
    • Owns product end-to-end for complex or cross-platform solutions, including creating, managing, and communicating product vision and roadmap.
    • Identifies target customers for existing or future products and drives end-user product research.
    • Partners with business and leadership to understand customer experiences and identify opportunities.
    • Conducts analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify product innovation opportunities or root causes of issues.
    • Works with data scientists to derive meaningful insights from data.
    • Performs cost-benefit, ROI, NPV, and competitive product analysis to support decision-making.
    • Secures and maintains product funding through enterprise processes.
    • Anticipates industry trends and incorporates analyses into the product process.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Executive Engagement
    • Communicates, influences, and sells ideas at the VP level and below, including delivering product presentations.
    • Drives ad hoc analysis and presents information to executive-level management.
    • Influences product feature sets and positioning strategies to improve customer experience and drive growth.
    • Assesses partnerships and licensing opportunities with external third parties.
    • Maintains a current understanding of tech trends and their impact on the roadmap.
  • Customer Insights & Voice of Customer
    • Leverages customer insights for product vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
    • Actively meets with customers to build empathy and understand their needs.
    • Creates and manages an active Voice of Customer (VOC) feed for the team.
    • Evangelizes and advocates for the customer internally and externally.
    • Tests ideas with real customers to ensure the product delivers desired benefits.
  • Product Execution & Backlog Management
    • Translates product/platform strategy into detailed requirements and documentation.
    • Owns and manages the product backlog and priorities with business and technology partners.
    • Scopes and aligns prioritization of activities based on business and customer impact.
    • Collaborates with Architecture and Dev teams to address technical debt and long-term investments.
    • Ensures production defects are prioritized and resolved.
    • Collaborates with stakeholders to create and communicate release schedules.
    • Generates and maintains dashboards and reports tracking product health and success metrics.
    • Conducts Product Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and Steering meetings.
  • Product Performance & Operations
    • Runs beta and pilot programs for early-stage products.
    • Collaborates with advertising and public relations to promote products.
    • Supports sales, marketing, and other teams with product knowledge and documentation.
    • Assists with execution across all aspects of the software development process.
    • Recognizes and communicates technical challenges and makes educated trade-off decisions.
    • Accountable for product quality and performance in production.
    • Manages product team response to critical or high-impact defects.
    • Develops adoption tools and training materials.
    • Identifies and drives improvement plans for execution, operational, or organizational issues.
  • Relationship & People, Professional Development
    • Collaborates with teams such as sales, marketing, legal, go-to-market, and finance.
    • Develops positive working relationships with customer groups or representatives.
    • Maintains professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • 7+ years of relevant Product Management experience.
  • Advanced understanding of customer experience.
  • Experience launching products in the Government/Public Safety segment.
  • Experience in delivering large and complex business/technology initiatives (required).
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with leadership and employ collaboration and influence (required).
  • Proven success in directing matrixed resources and delivering software using Agile Scrum methodologies (required).
  • Strong technical writing skills, including requirements elicitation and clear communication for different audiences (required).
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize product use data for decision-making (required).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Travel required.

Pay

Base pay range: $121,600 - $219,400. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience. Most Corporate employees are eligible for an annual bonus target of 20% based on company and/or individual performance.
