Key Responsibilities
- Design and govern scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions aligned with Delta's enterprise technology strategy.
- Serve as the technical authority and final approver for significant Salesforce architecture and integration decisions.
- Partner with fellow Process Architects and the Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) to define and evolve enterprise standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate technical tradeoffs and guide teams toward solutions that meet business needs without creating unnecessary complexity or technical debt.
- Drive a platform-first architecture approach that leverages native Salesforce capabilities while meeting Delta’s enterprise standards for security, scalability, and reliability.
- Design and review integrations using APIs, event-driven architectures, middleware, and cloud-native integration patterns.
- Contribute hands-on development in Apex, Lightning Web Components, and related technologies to maintain technical depth and engineering credibility.
- Reduce technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and architectural risk across the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and champion the practical use of AI to improve software delivery, developer productivity, and solution quality.
- Mentor developers, administrators, architects, and technical leads while raising the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of engineering across Delta's Salesforce ecosystem.
- Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and code reviews while influencing technical direction through expertise, collaboration, and data-driven decision making.
- Support critical production incidents, lead root cause analysis, and drive improvements that strengthen platform reliability, operational resilience, and business outcomes.
- Act with urgency, ownership, and accountability in support of Delta's operational objectives.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- 8+ years of software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise platform experience, including 7+ years designing and delivering Salesforce solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Deep understanding of software architecture principles, object-oriented design, distributed systems, integration patterns, and modern software engineering practices.
- Prior proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues spanning multiple applications and integrated systems while balancing delivery goals and maintaining long-term architectural quality.
- Experience serving as a technical governance authority for complex solutions, including architectural approval responsibilities and influencing technical direction across multiple teams without managerial authority.
- Strong understanding of source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern release management practices using tools such as GitLab and Copado.
- Hands-on experience developing solutions with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, Agentforce, Service Cloud, and Salesforce security models.
- Expert knowledge of Salesforce architecture, platform capabilities, limitations, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex systems and drive adoption of shared standards across multiple teams and business domains.
- Experience applying AI technologies to improve software delivery, engineering productivity, or business outcomes.
- Experience with enterprise integration and event-streaming platforms such as MuleSoft, Kafka, Azure Integration Services, or similar technologies.
- Experience establishing engineering standards and governance practices for large development organizations.
- Experience within airline, transportation, logistics, or other operationally critical industries.
