Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough coverage, liability, and injury investigations, obtain statements, and evaluate the facts needed to reach timely, well-informed claim decisions.
- Analyze complex Personal Lines policies and coverage issues, including Primary and Excess matters, and apply sound judgment to claim strategy.
- Direct field investigations and collaborate with Field, Counsel, Surveillance, and other vendors to develop the information needed for effective claim resolution.
- Maintain accurate, timely reserves and continually evaluate financial exposure as claim circumstances evolve.
- Partner with defense counsel to develop and execute litigation strategies while collaborating with SIU to identify and address potential fraud.
- Resolve claims through informed, merit-based negotiations with injured parties and their attorneys, balancing appropriate outcomes with effective loss management.
- Represent Plymouth Rock in arbitrations, depositions, mediations, and trials as required.
- Stay current on industry developments, contribute to training and knowledge-sharing, and support team initiatives and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or 5 years of Personal Lines Bodily Injury claims experience, with experience handling complex liability claims preferred.
- Experience: 3–5 years of Personal Lines Bodily Injury claims experience, with experience handling complex liability claims preferred. Experience with UM/UIM, Excess, or Umbrella claims is a plus.
- Claims Expertise: Strong knowledge of litigation, arbitration, mediation, and trial procedures, with experience handling claims across multiple states.
- State Experience: Experience handling claims in Massachusetts and New Hampshire is preferred. Massachusetts will be the primary handling state, with additional states as business needs require.
- Technical Expertise & Leadership: Stay current on industry developments, contribute to training and knowledge-sharing, and support team initiatives and continuous improvement.
