Core Responsibilities
- Own onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and welcoming experience.
- Manage contractor lifecycle logistics, access provisioning, documentation, and exits.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee and contractor records and documentation.
- Own full-cycle recruiting for employee and contractor positions, from job posting through offer stage.
- Source, screen, and evaluate candidates, conducting initial interviews and recommending qualified candidates for further consideration.
- Cook up and facilitate interview processes, candidate communications, and hiring logistics.
- Present candidate recommendations and hiring updates to the Director for review and approval at key stages of the hiring process.
- Prepare offer details and onboarding coordination following final hiring approval.
- Ensure timely communication throughout the recruiting process.
Benefits & 401(k) Administration
- Partner with Director to administer health benefits and retirement plans.
- Support Open Enrollment communications and execution.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and support.
People Systems & HRIS
- Own employee and contractor data within the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Manage updates, audits, and reporting as needed.
- Respond to employee HR inquiries with clarity and discretion.
- Troubleshoot issues and improve data processes over time.
- Support compliance with federal and state employment requirements by maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Aid in compliance-related tasks such as I-9 verification, audits, and required updates to employee records.
- Help ensure policies and practices align with basic compliance standards across a distributed, multi-state team.
- Flag potential compliance risks or gaps to the Director and support resolution as needed.
Internal Communications
- Draft and distribute clear, professional company-wide communications related to People Ops programs and updates.
- Partner with leadership on People Ops messaging as needed.
- Manage company swag ordering and distribution.
- Support travel coordination and company events as needed.
Qualifications
- 4–7+ years of experience in a People Operations or HR Generalist role.
- Demonstrated ability to own and manage core People Ops processes independently.
- Strong accuracy and follow-through across sensitive data and processes.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information and navigate employee matters appropriately.
- Experience recruiting and managing a full-cycle recruiting process.
- Preferred: Exposure to multi-state employment environments and familiarity with state-specific compliance considerations (e.g., leave laws, wage and hour basics).
- Experience working in a remote environment and/or agency setting.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and project management tools to support HR operations and workflow management (e.g., Gusto, Asana, or similar platforms).
