Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Process and submit bi-weekly, multi-state payroll, including garnishments and payroll tax filings.
- Enter payroll data such as commissions, bonuses, fringe benefits, and other payroll adjustments.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including direct deposit information and federal, state, and local tax withholdings.
- Administer the timekeeping system and maintain electronic timecards.
- Reconcile payroll prior to processing and validate payroll reports for accuracy.
- Provide payroll-related training and support to employees as needed.
- Ensure employee deductions are funded on time and prepare bi-weekly deduction files for various vendors.
- Issue and reissue payroll checks or direct deposits when necessary.
- Review payroll tax and wage withholding reports prepared by a third-party provider for federal, state, and local compliance.
- Process and remit voluntary deductions, including 401(k), employee stock purchase plans (ESPP), and other benefit-related deductions.
- Manage change requests related to payroll data file transfers between payroll and benefits systems.
- Ensure annual W-2 forms are accurately processed and mailed by the required January 31 deadline.
- Process W-2 adjustments for items such as vehicle allowances, legal allowances, stock option income, and other taxable benefits.
- Provide payroll documentation and support for quarterly and annual SOX audits.
- Stay current on payroll tax laws and regulatory changes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Payroll, or a related field; payroll certification and/or equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of five years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll.
- Two to five years of general accounting experience preferred.
