Responsibilities
- Audits automated and manual timecards for payroll processing
- Calculate hours, tax withholdings, deductions, bonuses, and union fringes
- Process and complete all requirements in relation to certified payroll to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local prevailing wage laws
- Coordinates with both internal and external customers to ensure compliance with jobs including but not limited to customers, general contractors, subcontractors, government agencies and labor unions
- Reviews initial job packets for certified payroll or prevailing wage requirements
- Reviews and processes tiered subcontractor certified payroll documentation in a timely manner
- Exports and import timecard information from timecard software into payroll software
- Reviews and enters labor allocations reported on timecards
- Prepares termination and check adjustments
- Handles employee's inquiries regarding payroll checks or deductions on their paychecks
- Coordinates with the HR department to ensure the correct employee data is on file
- Supports the department with developing, receiving, reviewing, and processing information for a variety of departmental, State, and Federal mandates, and statistical reports and records; verifies accuracy and completion of reports and records; maintains accurate records
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping confidential information

- Coordinates year-end processes

Qualifications
- Understanding of union/non-union and prevailing wage payroll
- Strong understanding of union bargaining agreement and labor compliance
- Demonstrates flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem solving
- Prior proven time management and follow-through skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines
- Current knowledge of applicable federal and state wage and hour laws and taxation
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Display superior written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
- Maintain a tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel
- CPP Certification preferred
- High Volume environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP
