About the role

We are hiring a Senior Patient Recruitment Specialist to support our Covina, California site. This role involves conducting phone screening interviews with potential study volunteers to determine their willingness and eligibility based on study protocols. You will provide details about procedures, risks, and benefits as outlined in approved recruitment materials and ensure compliance with Flourish SOPs, federal regulations, medical ethics, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH, and IRB requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and communicate protocol expectations for patient visits and procedures.
• Manage a high volume of calls while sitting at a workstation for extended periods.
• Recruit qualified study participants creatively and diligently to meet enrollment timelines while adhering to regulations.
• Conduct phone screenings using inclusion/exclusion criteria from the study protocol recruitment guide (PRG).
• Enter medical history and demographic information into a computerized database.
• Follow up with no-shows and update status in the CTMS with proper documentation.
• Make reminder calls for pre-screens and screens scheduled.
• Participate in walk-in screenings, open houses, health screenings, expos, and other in-person recruitment events.
• Maintain confidentiality of study protocol information and Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Attend required meetings and training sessions to stay updated on regulations, protocols, and policies.
• Perform duties in a time- and cost-effective manner while adhering to Flourish policies.
• Represent Flourish Research professionally in all interactions.
• On studies assigned as Lead Recruiter, participate in planning meetings (pre-SIV, SIV, trainings, protocol reviews) and maintain campaign portals/reporting.
• Assist in process improvements, training, and mentoring new hires.
• Contribute to achieving departmental and company goals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred but not required).
• 3+ years in the role or 5+ years of related experience in the research industry.
• Experience in patient recruitment and understanding of guidelines (IRB, FDA, GCP, HIPAA) preferred.
• Experience with outbound/inbound calling.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Professional work ethic with excellent customer service and telephone skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Ability to adapt to additional tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in skills required for the position; industry certification as applicable.

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in a typical interior clinical/office environment.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and work in a call center environment with occasional distractions.
• Extensive computer use.
• Ability to lift thirty-five pounds and occasionally more.
• Occasional night and weekend work schedules.
• Local travel may be required; ability to drive and daily availability of an automobile.

Pay

$31 to $33 per hour (depending on experience).

Schedule

Monday-Friday day shift (40 hours per week), onsite in Covina, CA.
