Senior Patient Recruitment Specialist
About the role
The Senior Patient Recruitment Specialist supports the Covina, California site of Flourish Research. This position is full-time and requires a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. The compensation range is $31 to $33 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct phone screening interviews with potential study volunteers to determine their willingness and eligibility based on the study protocol.
- Communicate expectations around protocol for specified patient visits and procedures.
- Manage a high volume of calls while sitting for long periods.
- Ensure that potential study participants are called, screened appropriately, and followed up with expeditiously.
- Participate in planning meetings, trainings, and protocol reviews.
- Enter medical history and demographic information into a computerized database.
- Make reminder phone calls for pre-screens and screens scheduled.
- Be knowledgeable about upcoming studies and communicate thoughts on how to pre-screen, if applicable.
- Attend required meetings and training sessions to stay updated on federal regulations, study protocols, and Flourish policies.
- Perform all study-related duties in a time-and-cost-effective manner in adherence with Flourish policies.
- Work independently and in a team, staying on task and meeting deadlines.
- Represent Flourish Research professionally and courteously in interactions with various stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality of study protocol information and Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Adapt to additional tasks as requested.
- Assist in developing and implementing process improvements.
- Foster relationships across teams.
- Achieve 80% of individual quarterly goals and objectives.
- Train and mentor department new hires.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- College degree preferred; however, not required.
- 3+ years of experience in the role, 5+ years of related experience (full/partial) within the research industry.
- Experience specifically in patient recruitment, understanding of related guidelines (IRB, FDA, GCP, and HIPAA) preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications.
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in a team.
- Professional and strong work ethic.
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Ability to adapt and take on additional tasks as requested.
- Assists in identifying and implementing process improvements.

- Proficiency of skills set needed for the position.
- Industry certification, as applicable by Flourish Research.
Qualifications
- Must be able to sit for an extended amount of time.
- Ability to work in a call center environment with occasional distractions and noise.
- Extensive computer use.
- Extensive driving and availability of an automobile.
