About the role
Optum is a clinician-led care organization dedicated to improving healthcare for everyone. As a Senior Patient Care Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the vision and mission of the organization, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to Lean processes.
Responsibilities
- Directly reports to site manager and partners with them to address and anticipate operational needs.
- Initiate consistent communication with leadership about office needs, staffing, and daily operations.
- De-escalate patients, staff, and other individuals as needed.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and adjust daily schedules when necessary.
- Lead the Practice Support Team, developing and maintaining a weekly schedule, tracking PTO, coordinating day-to-day operations, and conducting daily meaningful huddles.
- Train and develop front desk and practice support staff, monitor and coach them to improve the patient experience, customer service, and operational performance.
- Absorb and assist with patient check-in and check-out, helping to resolve patient concerns and escalate issues as needed.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly goals and performance, communicate daily staffing changes to the team and providers, and submit appropriate tickets and service requests to address operational issues.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2+ years of computer proficiency experience (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word)
- 2+ years of experience working in medical office positions, including scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records.
- 2+ years of previous experience in a lead position.
- 1+ years of experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC).
- Ability to work set schedule and arrive on time.
