Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, chief complaints, and reviewing medical and social histories.
• Administers medications and treatments as directed by a physician, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures, such as EKGs, rapid strep tests, urinalyses, and urine pregnancy tests.
• Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment and prepares treatment areas.
• Coordinates patient care with other healthcare professionals and community resources.
• Ensures patient satisfaction and maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of medical assistant experience with a focus on highly complex, chronic disease management or a specialty discipline.
• Absolutely required: Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, NHA, or Registered Medical Assistant, along with BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Additional certifications may be required depending on the specific duties performed.

• Demonstrated proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of medical practices and procedures, including the ability to assist with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatment plans.
