About the Role
The Senior Materials Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing the flow and availability of raw materials for Smalley’s production operations, including procurement and inventory control. Responsibilities will also include: researching new/existing products, price negotiation, resolving technical issues, identifying cost savings opportunities, using data and reporting tools to identify trends and make recommendations, and monitoring of open orders to ensure on time delivery.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Materials Management certification a plus
- 7 years minimum purchasing experience required
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is desired
- Experience with metals, wire, or metallurgy is a plus
- Attention to detail and strong desire to learn and grow
- Able to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
