Responsibilities
- Partner with the Marketing Manager and/or Director to build marketing plans, taking an active leadership role across Mayo Clinic to understand business objectives and develop marketing strategies to support them.
- Strategically evaluate and execute marketing activities, including advertising, collateral development, digital marketing, content creation/assessment, and event management.
- Drive, implement, monitor, and measure results of marketing activities to advance Mayo Clinic’s mission, strategic plan, and business objectives.
- Provide expert strategic marketing consultation and guidance to various clients, leading through influence without direct reporting relationships.
- Manage complex, cross-functional projects through the entire project lifecycle—from concept to launch—achieving objectives and measuring results.
- Serve as a role model, representing Mayo Clinic internally and externally while proactively building positive relationships with colleagues, leaders, and experts.
- Evaluate, analyze, and develop marketing strategies based on target audiences, market research, and business plans, continually assessing consumer and business needs.
- Develop a deep understanding of target audience needs and advocate for products and services aligned with those needs.
- Convey confidence, clarity, and transparency in communications with stakeholders and leaders, representing marketing on key institutional committees.
- Proactively contribute to business planning, marketing planning, and strategy development.
- Lead teams, including contractors and third parties, to deliver flawless execution.
- May oversee, manage, and report on budgets.
- Support product marketing, partnership activation, strategic events, and demand generation initiatives by developing sales collateral, presentations, product messaging, proof points, web content, and other customer-facing materials.
- Write and coordinate updates to existing materials for product/test updates.
- Support product launches by writing sales collateral and web copy, and coordinating with designers to produce finished materials.
- Partner with sales, product, legal, and marketing teams to tailor product materials to customer needs, competitive positioning, and buyer priorities.
- Occasional travel and flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., liberal arts, business, marketing, healthcare) plus 5 years of professional experience in marketing or a related field, or a master’s degree in a related field (MBA preferred) with 3 years of professional experience in marketing or a related field.
- Strong academic performance.
- Business acumen, including proven expertise in creating marketing strategies based on business objectives; experience with a major brand preferred.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, active listening, quantitative skills, persuasive oral and written communication, project management, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven execution ability, including digital marketing experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a consensus-style, collaborative environment that promotes teamwork.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment with experience meeting deadlines on time and with quality output.
- High personal motivation, strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity.
- Ability to inspire trust and confidence while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to prioritize and drive multiple projects forward.
- Experience working with target audiences, market research, and competitive landscape evaluation.
- Experience with marketing automation and understanding data, surfacing trends, and working with digital and advertising channels.

Required Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.

- Workfront proficiency.
- Experience writing for healthcare B-to-B audiences (clinician, lab, research).
- Experience in campaign, event, and product marketing.
- Experience writing for varied formats: web, print collateral, presentations, email, and long-form healthcare education (e.g., e-books, white papers, lead magnets).
Pay
$97,448.00 - $136,448.00 / year
Schedule
- Full Time
- 80 hours per pay period
- Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
