About the role

The individual is a key member of the IAS accreditation program management team and manages activities relating to the California and National TNI/ELAP accreditation programs. This position also involves working closely with the Accreditation Program Development Group (APDG) to promote and manage global business development and customer engagements for all IAS programs.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Accreditation Program Development Group, the Senior Manager works closely with senior management, program managers, assessors, and staff, and has frequent contact with customers, regulators, and business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned responsibilities for market needs in America and other global regions.
  • Interact with customers, program managers, assessors, and staff to ensure continuing growth in various program areas.
  • Plan and manage communication and business development activities regionally in collaboration with the Senior Vice President, Accreditation Program Development Group.
  • Travel nationally and internationally as needed for assessments, conferences, and meetings.
  • Expand the IAS accreditation program within TNI-regulated states nationally.
  • Work closely with the TNI/ELAP technical team to ensure prompt attention to quotes, business inquiries, and program management needs, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and/or a minimum of ten years of experience in business management, business development, marketing, or operations, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Master’s degree in a similar area may substitute for 2 years of experience.
  • Certification and/or training under relevant ISO/IEC standards (e.g., 17011, 17025, 17020, 17065, 17021-1) and related conformity assessment disciplines is a plus.

Skills

  • Knowledge of standards, conformity assessment standards, and quality management systems.
  • General understanding of technical and scientific principles.
  • Ability to direct staff activities and manage projects effectively.
  • Strong writing, communication, and investigative skills.
  • Ability to make quick, independent decisions and prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Capability to assess internal systems operations and convey observations to senior management.
  • Knowledge of international conformity assessment standards and relevant regulations in the area of operations.
  • Experience in public speaking and delivering presentations to technical, educational, and governmental groups is desired.
  • Ability to carry out duties in conformance with the IAS Management System.
