About the Role

The Senior Manager, Sourcing (Hybrid) will lead assigned sourcing areas and supplier performance initiatives supporting the Endoscopy Business Unit NPI Team in San Jose, CA. This role requires both strategic thinking and tactical execution in a highly matrixed global environment. The successful candidate will partner closely with R&D, operations, quality, and finance to drive supplier capabilities, support new product development (NPD) programs, and deliver business results through supplier alignment, cost management, and performance optimization.

Additionally, this role will manage the onsite team for sourcing in the Flower Mound, TX, communications business units.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned commodities, suppliers, projects, and products in support of overall divisional business unit objectives.
  • Formulate and implement processes to build a best-in-class strategic sourcing organization.
  • Develop and lead cross-functional teams to create strategic commodity plans, consolidation strategies, and spend/supply assessments, considering total product life cycle needs.
  • Lead sourcing analysis and selection processes, perform cost analyses, and conduct make vs. buy analyses; advise others on selection and cost analysis.
  • Lead the development of contract strategy, negotiate, establish, monitor, and enforce supplier contracts and agreements.
  • Develop strong partnership relationships with key suppliers and other disciplines within the business.
  • Partner and develop relationships with senior executive leadership at strategic suppliers.
  • Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans, including market assessments, supplier financial assessments, social responsibility, environment, and ethics.
  • Obtain and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers.
  • Utilize market trends to identify and implement appropriate cost controls and business strategy changes.
  • Collaborate across functions, divisions, and campuses to develop sourcing strategies, key supplier scorecards, and business reviews.
  • Organize and lead scorecard review meetings and business reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply management, business, finance, engineering, or related field.
  • 10 years in supply management with a focus on strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier development; preferably in medical devices or other highly regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier processes and supply chain risk factors, including experience assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base.
  • Strong negotiation skills, including experience negotiating and implementing commercial contracts such as supply and quality agreements (QAA).
  • Experience with supplier metrics and measurement methodologies and supporting systems.
  • Willingness to work in a result-based, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Travel: 20-30%, including international.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience working in regulated industries, including government, medical technology, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience leading NPD and sustaining procurement strategies.

Pay

US30: $176,300 - $293,700 USD Annual
