About the role

The Senior Manager of Caselaw Content Expansion will manage Content Legal Specialist teams, Content Analysis teams, and COOL teams to ensure quality content analysis and content expansion receive sufficient support. They will collaborate with Product teams to manage and execute content expansion initiatives, focusing on new Generative AI developments. This role reports to the Senior Director of Caselaw Enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the Content Legal Specialist teams, Content Analysis teams, and COOL teams to ensure quality content analysis and content expansion receive sufficient support.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to manage and execute content expansion initiatives, with a focus on new Generative AI developments.
  • Provide proactive workforce planning to ensure that GEO has the appropriate staffing footprint to support product and upcoming AI initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for expanding caselaw content, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.
  • Monitor and track progress towards achieving content expansion goals, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Lead change management and advance Gen AI across the GEO Case Law organization.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and quality issues across the content expansion and end-to-end case and case-related workflows.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of expanded content to Lexis+ and other LexisNexis platforms.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support content expansion initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge-sharing mechanisms for the content expansion teams.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, training, and talent development to team members.
  • Actively manage the budget for content expansion initiatives, identifying opportunities for cost savings and ensuring value through vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Maintain editorial product quality, accuracy, timeliness, and cost management for digital and print delivery of expanded caselaw content.
  • Collaborate with commercial stakeholders to create new global caselaw content opportunities to drive the customer experience forward.
  • Develop meaningful caselaw metrics and analytics in alignment with Global Editorial Operations targets.
  • Execute on automation and drive adoption of global tools and systems delivery, applying cutting-edge content management systems/architecture to streamline processes.
  • Establish and monitor objectives by providing regular feedback, coaching, training, and talent development.
  • Demonstrate cross-functional coordination and support of global initiatives.
  • Drive a culture that encourages learning, AI-first thinking, and thoughtful, timely decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Technology team to identify and implement automation opportunities, leveraging AI and other technologies to streamline the caselaw workflow and enhance quality control.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the performance of the caselaw workflow, highlighting key metrics, issues, and improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain content quality across both Generative AI and non-Generative AI workflows to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Manage BAU operations to ensure consistent and reliable content delivery as needed.

Requirements

  • JD required (or jurisdictional equivalent).
  • 3-5 years of people management experience required.
  • Strong process-orientation (developing consistent processes, documenting best practices, etc.).
  • Experience supporting a team through organizational transformation/change.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to synthesize relevant information for Global Editorial Operations and commercial leaders.
  • Experience in utilizing Legal Research and LLM console platforms (e.g., Lexis+AI, Protégé, Console, Co-Pilot, Chat GPT).

Pay

Base Pay Range: $99,700 - $166,000 (Home based-Ohio), $115,400 - $192,200 (New York), $125,900 - $209,700 (New York City), $104,900 - $174,700 (Rochester, NY), $123,816 - $197,784 (New Jersey).
