Senior Manager NOC Network Operations

About the role
The Senior Manager NOC Network Operations supports Network Operations by providing leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the safe and efficient execution of Southwest’s network. This role leads and develops Chiefs of Network and Network Superintendents, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The position partners across operational and support teams to drive network performance, operational excellence, and initiatives related to technology, training, reporting, analytics, and operational strategy.
Responsibilities
- Preside over all aspects of Network Operations, including the establishment and modification of policies, procedures, and training
- Collaborate with other departments on NOC strategy and actions
- Audit employee job performance to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and government regulations
- Participate in the implementation of Emergency Response initiatives
- Attend government and industry meetings to develop new processes
- Ensure company performance metrics are met
- Collaborate on policy changes for Superintendents of Dispatch through the creation and distribution of Read before Dispatch bulletins and other guidelines
- Provide leadership and direction to the Network Operations Control office to ensure the daily schedule is operated safely and maintained efficiently
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Network Operations guidelines, federal regulations, and company policies
- Perform other job duties as directed by leadership
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
- Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
- Airline network operations
- Safety and operational performance objectives
- Project management
- Preferred: Understanding of factors that influence airline schedule planning, execution, and network performance
- Preferred: Experience leading cross-functional projects in a complex operational environment
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per company appearance standards
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must comply with company attendance standards
- Ability to work extended hours based on operational needs
Skills
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership technique
- Expert knowledge of FAA and DOT regulations
- Knowledge of forecasting and strategic planning
- Skilled in effective communication with excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
- Skilled in inspiring confidence among employees, peers, company leadership, and throughout internal and external organizations
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Ability to identify the right people for the job and provide ongoing coaching to ensure strong teams
- Ability to think strategically and understand the relationship between current actions and future consequences

- Ability to perform work duties from an office area for extended periods of time

Pay
Competitive market salary from $160,550.00 per year to $178,400.00 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities are available for eligible leadership and individual contributor roles at the discretion of the company.
