Senior Manager, Healthcare Reimbursement
About the role
The Healthcare Consulting Specialty Reimbursement team at Forvis Mazars helps healthcare providers navigate complex reimbursement regulations and optimize reimbursement outcomes. In this role, you will lead client service delivery related to Medicare Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) reimbursement, combining technical reimbursement expertise with strong project leadership, client relationship management, team development, and oversight of engagement execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead Medicare DSH client engagements from planning through execution, aligning workstreams, priorities, and resources to meet engagement objectives.
- Manage project plans, timelines, and key deliverables to keep engagements on schedule, within scope, and executed with a high standard of quality.
- Build and manage strong client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor, setting expectations, and driving clear communication throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Advise clients on Medicare DSH reimbursement strategy by identifying opportunities, addressing risks, and recommending practical process improvements.
- Oversee the review of analyses and supporting workpapers to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and alignment with client and engagement objectives.
- Coach, develop, and support team members by providing guidance, reviewing work, sharing technical knowledge, and helping drive high-quality execution across engagements.
- Monitor Medicare DSH regulatory developments and translate evolving guidance into clear, actionable recommendations for clients and internal teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience in healthcare reimbursement, healthcare consulting, or healthcare finance, including significant Medicare DSH experience
- Demonstrated expertise in Medicare DSH reimbursement, reimbursement methodologies, regulatory interpretation, and audit support
- Prominent ability to manage client relationships, lead multiple projects, oversee timelines and deliverables, and coach and mentor staff in a fast-paced consulting environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience working with large data sets and analytical tools
- Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and team leadership responsibilities
Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Experience with Alteryx, Power BI, SQL, or other data visualization and automation tools
- Current and valid CPA license or other relevant professional credential
