Senior Maintenance Worker
Routine Inspections and Repairs
The successful candidate will routinely inspect the facility, troubleshoot, and make repairs to the mechanical, electrical, air conditioning, and plumbing systems, as well as any structural elements on the property.
They will also perform a variety of maintenance and minor repair activities on the interior and exterior of the property, including painting, drywalling, structural elements, clearing drain stoppages, interior and exterior lighting, and plumbing repairs.
- Operate a variety of equipment to perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and maintain cleanliness of the property.
- Aid other departments such as Marketing and Local Leasing with event setup and cart placement.
- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance programs as assigned by management.
- Maintain inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment, and tools.
Custodial Duties
The candidate may assist with regular exterior custodial duties, which may include sweeping sidewalks, wet mopping sidewalks, operating a steam cleaner, operating a hand vacuum, gathering trash, emptying trash receptacles, operating a compactor, and turning trash carts.
Supervision and Oversight
The candidate will assist in supervising maintenance staff by assigning duties and projects, overseeing maintenance work to ensure proper completion of assigned tasks, and providing guidance and assistance to various maintenance personnel as necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, with technical school certifications and/or training preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years building maintenance experience, including some carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing functions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and comprehend instructions.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to present information to departmental management, employees, tenants, and outside contacts.
- Ability to diagnose problems on equipment and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Prioritize safety and follow safety rules, hazards, and accident prevention measures.
- Basic knowledge of fire protection hydraulic systems and fire protection alarm systems.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $27.40 - $41.99 per hour. Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including an individual's skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as the geographic location of the job. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at the top end of the pay range.
