Safety-sensitive position with the Brazos River Authority (BRA).

About the role

The purpose of this position is to monitor, repair, and maintain grounds and facilities as part of a team. This includes maintaining, repairing, cleaning, and renovating BRA facilities, parks, and equipment, as well as providing routine grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform building maintenance: painting, installing carpet, plumbing repairs, and assisting with electrical repairs and installations.
  • Perform grounds maintenance: cleaning and maintaining parks and restrooms; mowing; weed-eating; trimming trees; fertilizing; operating sprinkler systems.
  • Repair cement and rock work fixtures; construct and repair fences, gates, picnic tables, awnings, and buildings.
  • Complete welding and fabrication as needed on facilities and equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, cranes, compressors, jackhammers, boats, and tractors to perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist with dam operations and perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain daily records and provide customer service to employees and others.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years' experience or equivalent education.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and good driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Commercial Driver's License or Texas Class B Driver's License.
  • Welding Certification.
  • Crane Operator Certification and/or Refrigerant Certification.

Pay

Starting salary range: $21.53 to $27.45 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.
