About the Role
Sonida Senior Living is one of the nation’s leading operators of independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities for senior adults. The Senior Living Sales Specialist will report to the Regional Director of Sales and work closely with key leadership partners at our communities. This role facilitates primary sales activities temporarily in communities without a permanent on-site Sales Director and mentors underperforming Sales Directors to drive revenue and increase market penetration across North America.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with facility-based teams to maximize revenue and meet short- and long-term corporate objectives for identified communities.
- Establish and maintain community presence by traveling to and working from communities as identified by strategic necessity. Interim assignments may vary from several weeks to six months.
- Develop pricing strategies and sales campaigns with community leadership, corporate operations, and corporate sales teams.
- Increase overall occupancy rates and revenue within communities.
- Ensure sales activities are implemented in a proactive, not reactive, environment.
- Establish and enforce key sales targets for lead development, lead conversion to tours, tour conversion to deposits and move-ins, and overall occupancy by community.
- Work with marketing professionals to maximize presence on electronic platforms and utilize electronic media to modernize the sales approach and grow revenue.
- Meet with prospective residents and their families to conduct thorough discovery and uncover individual needs in seeking senior living placement, including home visits and on-site meetings.
- Provide sales activities and results necessary to achieve and exceed community sales and move-in goals to continuously maximize occupancy.
- Oversee adherence to Sales Expectations and Metrics in tandem with the Regional Director of Sales.
- Ensure all marketing and sales discussions are presented truthfully and consistently reflect the services the community provides.
- Promote and embody the Company’s mission statement.
- Review and oversee implementation of community-specific quarterly action plans, competitive analysis, weekly/monthly secret shop results, sales reports, and community compliance with SSL Signature Programs.
- Communicate with the regional team about necessary improvements.
Requirements
- A minimum of three to five years of sales experience with a record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales performance goals.
- High school diploma required; college credits or degree preferred or equivalent state experience requirements.
- 75%–100% travel required, including working 10 consecutive days followed by four consecutive days off on a regular basis. Expect to spend 75% of time onsite.
- Familiarity with PC-based software for capturing sales data and word processing. Experience with presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel), email, and internet functions is a plus.
- Full understanding and competency in Yardi CRM.
- Meet continuing education and certification requirements, including state mandates.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively at all levels of the company while following reporting paths.
- Strong problem-recognition and communication skills.
- Ability to relate professionally to the public, residents, families, staff, and other professionals.
- Effective teaching and training skills.
- Ability to travel to and work from individual communities as identified by strategic necessity.
- Flexibility to work hours required by the role.
