About the role
The Business Office Director (BOD) oversees the community's accounting processes, payroll, and human resources. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with financial policies, managing accounts payable, assisting with employee onboarding, and supporting regulatory inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Ensures adherence to all financial policies and procedures.
- Performs month-end close tasks.
- Supports community department heads with proper purchase coding and policy enforcement.
- Monitors and pays invoices and payables in a timely manner.
- Identifies, resolves, or escalates A/P and other accounting issues.
- Sets up and manages resident account and billing information.
- Aids the General Manager (GM) with resident accounting deliverables and receivables management.
- Assists GM and department heads with recruiting, hiring, and training new team members.
- Manages UltiPro for change requests and assists with training documentation.
- Supports GM and department heads in payroll processing, leave management, and process improvements.
- Creates and runs key reports, manages monthly rental increases, and assists with IT coordination.
- Acts as the on-site liaison for the IT Department and supports process improvement initiatives.
- Assists GM with staff and committee meetings as needed.
Requirements
- 2 years of college required, associate degree with emphasis in Accounting or Business preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in an office manager or similar role, including 4 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- Understanding of accounting concepts and experience in bookkeeping and office management.
- Knowledge of general human resource practices.
- Experience in the senior living industry a plus.
Qualifications
- Physical requirements include regular computer use and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs).
Skills
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
