About the role
Our client, a growing law firm in Augusta, Maine, is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters from case inception through trial and appeal. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigation professional who is highly organized, proactive, and enjoys working closely with attorneys while serving as a key resource for clients and case teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation matters from intake through trial and appeal
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, settlements, trial materials, and appellate filings
- Coordinate discovery, including document review, eDiscovery, and production
- E-file documents in state and federal courts and monitor dockets and deadlines
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
- Prepare exhibits, witness materials, trial notebooks, deposition summaries, and hearing materials
- Conduct legal/factual research and organize case records and evidence
- Serve as a key client contact and coordinate with attorneys, courts, experts, and opposing counsel
- Maintain case files, litigation schedules, attorney calendars, and billable time
Requirements
- 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred, not required
- Knowledge of state and federal litigation procedures, court rules, and electronic filing systems
- Excellent legal drafting, research, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, document and case management
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality

- Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Civil/Business Litigation, Personal Injury/Medical Malpractice, Probate/Trusts & Estate Litigation, Real Estate Litigation, Family/Divorce, Criminal Law, or Appeals
