About the role
Join a well-established and highly respected San Diego law firm as a Litigation Paralegal supporting attorneys in a sophisticated civil litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal who enjoys substantive casework, working collaboratively with attorneys, and supporting complex litigation matters for clients ranging from international corporations to small businesses and individuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and respond to discovery in pending litigation.
- Manage, organize, analyze, and prepare documents for production.
- Draft Judicial Council forms for court proceedings and hearings.
- Prepare and respond to subpoenas.
- Aid attorneys with deposition preparation, including exhibit organization, remote deposition support, and deposition transcript summaries.
- Support all phases of trial preparation.
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, vendors, court personnel, and third parties.
- Utilize legal technology, including document management systems, e-discovery software, spreadsheets, databases, timekeeping, and forms programs.
- Support litigation matters involving business disputes, employment litigation, probate litigation, real estate disputes, healthcare litigation, and data privacy/cybersecurity litigation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience supporting a medium to large civil litigation practice.
- Bachelor's degree and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate (both preferred).
- Working knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, and litigation procedures.
- Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with e-discovery software; Disco experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience with document management systems, preferably iManage.
