Senior Litigation Attorney

About the Role

We are partnered with a nationally recognized Am Law 100 firm with a strong reputation in insurance defense, construction litigation, and complex casualty matters. The firm represents insurers, contractors, developers, transportation companies, and other sophisticated clients in high-exposure litigation across New York and beyond. This role offers the opportunity to handle a sophisticated mix of New York Labor Law, construction defect, premises liability, transportation, and general casualty matters while working closely with seasoned litigators on significant and complex cases.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of construction, general liability, premises liability, and transportation-related matters from inception through resolution
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including depositions, motion practice, court appearances, mediations, and trial preparation
• Defend claims involving New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241 as well as high-exposure casualty and construction accident matters
• Work directly with clients, carriers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop litigation strategy and provide regular case updates
• Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on complex matters, including catastrophic injury and multi-party litigation
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to overall case strategy and client service initiatives

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to the New York Bar
• 3+ years of defense litigation experience
• Strong background handling construction litigation, general liability, insurance defense, and/or premises liability matters
• Experience independently managing cases and client relationships
• Demonstrated deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience
• Trial experience as first or second chair is highly desirable
• Knowledge of New York Labor Law and construction accident litigation strongly preferred
