Senior Litigation Attorney

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage complex litigation matters from inception through trial or resolution
  • Develop and execute case strategy, assess risk, and advise clients on litigation posture and options
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and legal memoranda with a high standard of written advocacy
  • Conduct and defend depositions, and manage the full discovery process
  • Appear regularly in Illinois state and federal courts for hearings, motions, and trial
  • Manage client relationships and communicate case developments clearly and proactively
  • Oversee and delegate work where appropriate to ensure timely, high-quality output

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active Illinois Bar License in good standing
  • Minimum 7 years of litigation experience
  • Demonstrated courtroom, deposition, and case-management experience
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to independently manage a full litigation caseload

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across two or more of the firm's practice areas
  • First-chair or significant second-chair trial experience
  • Federal court and dispositive-motion practice
  • A portable book of business or client relationships (a plus, not required)

  • Base salary of $140,000–$185,000 per year, commensurate with experience
