Our client is a well-established, multi-practice New York City law firm operating out of a single Manhattan office in the Financial District. Built over decades into a full-service practice, the firm has developed a genuine litigation and appellate bench alongside its other core departments, rather than treating litigation as an ancillary offering. The appellate practice in particular has a long track record and a reputation among peers for sophisticated, well-prepared advocacy. The firm is structured around direct partner involvement in casework, and it has cultivated a loyal referral network built on decades of consistent results and community trust.

Why join us?

  • Serious appellate work. The team handles matters before the Second Circuit and other appellate bodies, offering substantive brief-writing and oral argument experience.
  • Direct partner access. Attorneys work closely with the partner who leads the litigation and appellate department, with real opportunities for mentorship and case ownership.
  • Flexibility that scales with tenure. The role starts onsite to build familiarity with the team and workflow, then transitions to a hybrid schedule after 3–6 months.
  • Institutional stability. A firm with a multi-generational history and a strong regional reputation, offering steadier footing than many boutique litigation shops.
  • Varied caseload. Litigation attorneys are exposed to a range of underlying subject matter rather than a single narrow niche.

Responsibilities

  • Handle matters before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and other appellate bodies.
  • Manage complex litigation matters with a high degree of independence.
