Senior Lecturer of Chemistry
Academic Staff – Terminal (Fixed Term) appointment in the Department of Natural Sciences.
About the Role
Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within Chemistry. Provides for-credit instruction in laboratory settings, including grading, and serves as an instructor of record.
Responsibilities
- Teach one to three laboratory sections of General Chemistry I, a required course for science majors.
- Facilitate laboratory instruction and assist with instructional development for the course to support quality instruction.
- Provide for-credit instruction in a laboratory setting, including grading.
- Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to the course.
- Serve as an initial point of contact for students regarding course content and expectations.
- Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Evidence of ability to teach and work with students.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization without sponsorship from UW-Superior.
Qualifications
- At least one semester of college laboratory teaching experience (desirable).
Schedule
- Part-time: 20-60% appointment (instructional academic staff).
- Fall semester: August 26, 2026 – January 9, 2027.
- 1-3 vacancies available.
Pay
$43,500 full-time equivalent (FTE) annual salary based on a 9-month appointment. Actual salary will be prorated based on appointment percentage (20-60% FTE).
