About the role

The successful candidate will undertake research and related teaching activities within the School of Science, UNSW Canberra. This role will contribute to the advancement of the School’s international profile through scholarly research, supervision of research students, and teaching in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research in experimental chemistry, contributing to the School’s research goals.
  • Supervise research students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in chemistry.
  • Engage in scholarly activities such as publishing research findings and presenting at conferences.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with colleagues, industry partners, and professional networks.
  • Support and inspire a diverse student population, fostering their academic and personal success.

Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry or a closely related experimental chemistry discipline.
  • Expertise that complements and strengthens the School’s research and teaching profile.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum design, and course delivery at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • A strong commitment to student success, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • An established or emerging track record of high-quality research, including scholarly publications, research leadership, supervision of higher degree students, and the ability to develop and sustain a successful research program.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with colleagues, industry, and professional networks.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

Pay

Level B from $133,065/Level C from $161,619 plus 17% super.

Schedule

Full-time (35 hrs per week).
