About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking research and related teaching activities within the School of Science, UNSW Canberra. This role will contribute to the advancement of the School’s international profile through scholarly research, supervising research students, and teaching a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Responsibilities
- Conducting high-quality research in experimental chemistry, including scholarly publications, research leadership, and supervision of higher degree students.
- Teaching a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in chemistry.
- Contributing to the School’s international profile through scholarly research and teaching.
- Engaging, supporting, and inspiring students from diverse backgrounds.
- Building productive relationships with colleagues, industry, and professional networks.
- Collaborating in a multidisciplinary teaching and research environment.
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry or a closely related experimental chemistry discipline.
- Expertise that complements and strengthens the School’s research and teaching profile.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum design, and course delivery at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- A strong commitment to student success, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- An established or emerging track record of high-quality research, including scholarly publications, research leadership, supervision of higher degree students, and the ability to develop and sustain a successful research program.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Qualifications

Pay
Level B from $133,065/Level C from $161,619 plus 17% super.
Schedule
Full-time (35 hrs per week).
